Self-portraiture is self-representation. It allows communication with one's own inner image, which is the base for self-knowledge and personal memory and often does not correspond with the vision one has of themselves. Reality appears ephemeral, and exploration leads to questions such as: "Who Am I really?" Often, we do not recognize or accept the portrayed image, and being placed in front of one's own image involves aesthetic concerns. This is due to the distorted perception of the internalized image compared to the real one.
How would you portray yourself? We will explore personal perception through elements concerning the self and its appearance using informed choices. "How do I perceive myself?", "How do others see me?" and "How do I want to be seen?" During this workshop, participants will use different methods to explore their own representation, such as photography, drawing with watercolors, collage and text. They will go home with a self-made small book, finished with Japanese binding, which will contain the material produced during the two days of the workshop.
